Reasons why you should hire a Virtual Assistant immediately

Yes I know I am biased, but there are genuinely good reasons that everyone who is in business or a high-stress career should hire a Virtual Assistant.

You didn’t go into business or that career to do admin

Let’s face it unless you set out to be something like a Virtual Assistant yourself you didn’t go into business to spend all/far too much time doing administrative or techy work. But business owners, especially small business owners tend to find themselves spending more and more time doing admin work, as we have to wear all the hats. Whether it’s answering or sending emails, any kind of marketing, keeping the website up to date or just general data and paperwork.

But honestly, is that what you really want to spend your time doing? Think about it, what did you go into business to do? If you were more focused on that task and had more time to dedicate to it would your business be doing better? Making more money? Helping more people? If the answer is yes then you need to know the value of outsourcing and hire a Virtual Assistant as soon as you can.

It’s different than hiring a full-time employee

So I am guessing you either can’t afford to hire or full time employee plus all the associated costs like annual leave, sick days, pension etc? Never mind having to find an office to put them and all the costs that come with the building! (though WFH is now a real thing!) It’s all mounting up isn’t it?

Or is it simply you don’t have enough admin, tech or delegate work for a full time employee?

That’s where a Virtual Assistant comes in, our rates may look high but when you factor in that you are only paying for the time we are working on your tasks (no coffee breaks or anything!) and as freelancers we don’t have the ‘perks’ of being a full-time employee so that brings down the hidden costs! Also we have our own office, usually at home so there are no associated estate costs that come with hiring a VA and you can state how many hours you want or a package so you know what it will cost you.

That hourly rate isn’t looking so scary anymore is it?

You don’t have time to liaise with your customers or clients

What if you have a product that you need to keep an eye on or a service that invites a lot of queries and comments? As a business owner you simply can’t spend all of your time watching and answering these.

Be honest now, you’re awake half the night trying to aren’t you? You shouldn’t be as a business owner, you should be focusing on the tasks that make you money, make what you are selling better and help grow your business.

A VA will happily take on correspondence and review/comment replies so they align with your brand, it is an easy task to delegate. Even if it doesn’t feel that way, but that just means you need to learn to let go of the tasks than can be delegated, for your business and your sanity.

It will also means your customers or clients will get a much better service if someone is dedicated to the tasks rather than trying to fit it in around a million other jobs.

You are currently winging all your admin and tech

It may be that your admin tasks are not difficult, just time consuming. Or it may be that you don’t really know what you’re doing and you’re winging it — we find that is usually the case with tech, or people just keep putting it off because it’s scary.

You wouldn’t do this with other areas of your business, like your taxes? I bet you hired an accountant.

So if you are winging it or it’s just taking up far too much of your time, do something that will help your business, and maybe help you sleep better! Hire a professional, a Virtual Assistant will save you time and money in the long run.

If you’re still not convinced about hiring a VA I have a suggestion. Write down every task, no matter how big or small you do for your business and a rough guide of how long they take.

Then mark the ones that only you can do, and which enhance/grow your business and potentially make you more money.

Look at the leftover tasks and the time spent doing them, they can be delegated to a Virtual Assistant, so you can get on with the other, more lucrative tasks on your list.
