Sometimes people wonder what actually happens when they work with me. Typically this is how it works…

When you work with me I have set processes for consultation, on-boarding and continued work to follow. Just so everything is clear I will go through them for you.

Consultation

This starts after initial contact which could be one of several ways.

There maybe some chat or emails back and forth just to get an idea of what the potential client is looking for and if I am able to help. But eventually there will be a zoom or telephone call and we will get down to the nitty-gritty of what the client wants.

I will make notes and advise if it fits into my packages or if an hourly rate would be better. Then I will go away work out the details and email over a quote or estimation (if more ad-hoc) for the work. If we are both happy to proceed then we move on to the on-boarding process.

On-Boarding

Before work can begin I will write up a Virtual Assistant Freelancer Agreement, detailing the work to be done and the terms which were discussed in the call, and a Data Processing Agreement and send it to the new client. There may be some back and forth here if some terms of the agreements need changing. Once it has been signed my both parties we can move on.

Then I will request access to programs and systems I need to complete my work, either by remote access or direct with usernames and passwords. If I am going to be setting them up the client may need to authorise this to link accounts (goggle knows when it’s a different machine!) All usernames and passwords are securely stored.

Then I can get on with what the client needs, whether they are daily, weekly or monthly tasks. Or more ad-hoc where I check in and ask what needs doing or the client simply sends what they need doing.

An invoice will then be sent each month or at the end of a fixed task. If a client has purchased a set number of hours I will contact them when they are close to the end of those hours if there is more work than hours allow and ask if they wish to add more hours or continue with the tasks the next month.

Continued Work

Going forward the work should start to flow easily (maybe a little more stop-start for ad-hoc) as I get to know the company and they get to know me.

I will effortlessly continue the work in the background to allow the business owner to not have to worry about any of it, though they will be free to contact me if they need anything.

A catch-up call will be scheduled as often as needed (depending on the type of work this maybe weekly, monthly or longer) to discuss how things are going, anything else I can help with or to give any suggestions.

So that’s it, that is what working with me is like. It’s very simple really.

So what’s holding you back?
